Kirk-Stemmed Points

Long, narrow blade, sometimes thick

Blade often serrated due to extensive resharpening

Blade edges sometimes beveled

Shoulders narrow but well-defined, especially on heavily serrated specimens

Stem edges straight to slightly flared at the base

Base thinned by removal of several small thinning flakes

Serrated forms sometimes considered a separate type, Kirk Serrated

Size: 2 to 3½ inches long

Early Archaic: ca. 6900-6000 BC
