In case you hadn’t already heard, Columbus, Ohio (where our office is located) was chosen as the winner of the Smart Cities Challenge earlier this year. This means millions of dollars will be invested into changing the mobility landscape of the city. The program will bring new transportation marvels such as autonomous trucks, among others. The world of self-driving vehicles is evolving rapidly, and bringing new ideas… and new issues.

- Self-driving? You’re gonna need a bigger data plan [ReadWrite] “To put it another way, an estimated four petabytes of data is going to be generated by each autonomous car on the road every year.”
- Self-driving cars: overlooking data privacy is a car crash waiting to happen [The Guardian] “What’s most notable about these early regulatory attempts is not that they are varied – that is to be expected. It’s that the regulations deal mostly with physical safety, leaving privacy and cybersecurity issues almost wholly unexamined.”
