Mention Google to a librarian and you’re likely to get a strong reaction, ranging from worry to grudging respect. Surveys tell us that the overwhelming majority of people turn to Google when searching for information on the web, and generally ignore library websites. That’s worrisome for libraries. But Google is undeniably good at finding information on the web, and that’s why people keep returning to it.
