The April edition of WIRED MAGAZINE is telling us “How the tablet will change the world.” In fact, “13 of the Brightest Tech Minds Sound Off on the Rise of the Tablet.” in the issue.
It’s up in the air what the definition of a tablet computer really is, but at minimum, a tablet device has a touchscreen, allows users to browse the Web, read books, send email, watch movies, and play games. Tablet computers are mainly designed to reproduce content, not create it, because of their technical specs and they’re certainly not meant replace your desktop PC. Their selling point is their portability.
1. The zenPad is a five-inch mobile computer. It fits your pocket, it reads and write emails, you can browse the web, watch movies on it, or listen to music. Looks like the only thing it doesn’t do is take phone calls.
2. The Dell Mini 5 has a 5-inch 800×480 touchscreen, Android 1.6, 1GHz CPU (presumably Snapdragon), WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G of some sort, 5 megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, front-facing camera, and the same 1530mAh battery.

3. Archos, a company best known for making MP3 players has the Archos 5 Internet Tablet. Here are two reviews:

4. The $200 touchscreen tablet known as the CrunchPad has morphed into a $500 device called JooJoo.
