On May 1st and 2nd, 424 library advocates from 47 states went to Washington, D.C. for the American Library Association’s National Library Legislative Day. They spoke with their Congressional representatives about the needs of libraries in the areas of funding, telecommunications, copyright, government information, and privacy.
One of the privacy issues discussed was the so-called REAL ID Act. If you’ve been following state government, you may have seen that REAL ID is also a topic of discussion at the Statehouse. This week’s OPLIN 4cast Podcast provides you with some information about this legislation and how it might impact libraries.
